Al-Qalam University: Vice-Chancellor Gets 786 Capacity Lecture Hall

The Parents and Stakeholders Forum of Al-Qalam University, Katsina has handed over its newly constructed lecture hall to the Governing Council of the University. The 786 capacity lecture hall designed with seven senior staff offices was built at the cost of N61 million naira and named after the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Shehu Garki Ado.

At a brief ceremony on Sunday, 26th January, 2020, the Acting Chairman of the Forum, Barrister Lawal Balarabe handed over the keys to the Complex to the Governing Council of the University led by Sani Zangon Daura.

Barrister Balarabe explained that the Forum accomplished the construction of the Complex in eight months adding that a good communication system has been installed in the lecture hall, the staff offices well furnished and the entire Complex provided with good water system to guaranty conducive learning for both staff and students.

He said that ‘’ The Parents and Stakeholders Forum decided to name the Complex after the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shehu Garki Ado because of his immense support and contribution to the successes being recorded by the Forum and also his dedication to the overall progress of Al-Qalam University’’.

In her remarks after receiving the keys to the Complex, a member of the Governing Council, Hajiya Hindatu Umar Abdullahi ( Ayanan Daura) expressed happiness saying that the donation of the Complex is significant to the history of the university.

‘’This is the first time that we see parents in a university setting here in the north of the country organising themselves and successfully coming up with projects which will promote the development of universities. Definitely, history will not forget your contributions in Al-Qalam University’’. She said.

Hajiya Hindatu prayed for Allah to reward the parents and all stakeholders of the Forum both in this world and the hereafter.

After the handing over of the Complex to the Governing Council of the university, members of the Parents and Stakeholders Forum held their second Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Muhammad Lawal Kaita Auditorium.
