Breaking: Katsina gov’t gives 48-hour deadline for bandits surrender
Katsina State Government has given two days ultimatum to unrepentant herders to unconditionally release all kidnapped persons in their custody or face the full wrath of the law.
The Secretary to the Government of Katsina State, Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa made the declaration while briefing newsmen on the outcome
of an extraordinary meeting held between the Government, the GOC 8th Division Sokoto General Aminu Bande, the repentants and representatives of some recalcitrants among the bandits from Katsina and Zamfara States.
Inuwa said henceforth the State Government will no longer grant any excuse to bandit or group of bandits who breach the peace accord with the State Government.
He warned that this would be the meeting government will sit with the herdsmen to advocate for peaceful coexistence between them and the larger society.
The SGS said for those repentants who still abide by the dictates of the accord government would provide them a land to relocate as no going back the military will soon resumed in full force.
The meeting was summoned by the GOC 8th Division Sokoto General Aminu Bande at the instant of the repentant herders and representatives of some recalcitrants among the notorious bandits.
