Kidnappers demand N150m ransom for 3 victims in Jibia
The kidnappers who attacked and abducted three people in Jibia on Sunday night had reportedly demanded a ransom of N150m, Katsina Post gathered.
In a widely circulated audio recording of the conversation between the one of the kidnappers and the person believed to be Alhaji Tasiu Wali, the husband, and father to Hajiya Asmau and her one-year-old baby girl, Husna respectively, the kidnappers were heard demanding for the said amount.
While the negotiation was ongoing, Alhaji Tasiu offered to give them N4m which they instantly rejected.
“I swear to Allah that nobody that I know in the whole of Jibia can boost of N100m of his own, so, please help me and ask for a reasonable amount that I have and can give.
“You are just thinking that I have money but by Allah, I don’t have the money you are thinking, we are just managing,” Alhaji Tasi’u was heard saying during their conversation.
But the kidnappers seem adamant and insisted that he should come up with better money for them.
The conversation ended without reaching consensus with a promise to continue.
Recall that suspected bandits on Sunday night invaded Jibia town in Katsina State and kidnapped a one-year-old baby, her mother, and another man.
One Ibrahim Usman also died of gunshot injury during the invasion.
The spokesman for the Katsina State police command, SP Isah Gambo, confirmed the incident.
