Katsina gov’t, PLBC begin training of 32,000 teachers

The Katsina State government in partnership with Pleasant Library and Book Club (PLBC) has begun the training of the state’s over 32,000 teachers, Katsina Post learned.

The first phase of the training which began today is going on in two centers of Rimi and Mani and is expected to last for upto Sunday.

The State Commissioner for Education, Associate Professor Badamasi Lawal Charanchi while inspecting the training in Rimi center commended the PLBC under the leadership of Engr Muttaqha Rabe Darma for the initiative.

On his part, the President of the PLBC, Engr Muttaqha Rabe while monitoring the conduct of the training in Mani also charged the teachers to pay attention to what they would be taught and also apply it in their various classes.

“Our philosophy is that teachers should be at the center of educational reform, that is why we are investigating in impacting knowledge to you.

“We want to change the narrative of how the society sees teachers and that can only happen when the teachers themselves are equipped with modern realities,” he said.

Engr Muttaqha also said that after the training, all the teachers will have access to all teaching materials that will help them.
