The Bill for an Act to re-name Federal Polytechnic Daura as ‘Mustapha Bukar Polytechnic in honor of the Late Senator, sponsored by Distinguished Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita ( Katsina North) Passes Second Reading in the Senate yesterday, Katsina Post learned.
The passage of the bill followed the consideration of the report of the Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND on the University presented before it by the committee Chairman, Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita on Wednesday during the plenary.
Recalled that the Bill was read for the first time on Wednesday 9th, October 2019 and read for the second time earlier in December, 2019.
According to the Senator Kaita’s media aide, Mallam Abdulkadir Lawal, the Bill was basically motivated by the need to immortalize Late Senator Mustapha Bukar for his immense contribution to the Public sector generally and in particular his indelible legacies in the Education sector.
Senator Kaita while leading the debate on the Bill, explained how committed he was to ensure that the Institution as envisioned and conceived by the late Senator becomes a reality, and expressed delight on seeing the all-important project come to fruition.
