Breaking: Supreme Court upheld Gov Masari’s election
Supreme Court affirms election victory of Governor Aminu Masari of Kastina State today.
This is coming after the the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State yllrejected the judgment of the Court of Appeal, which dismissed the suit filed by the party and its gubernatorial candidate, Senator Yakubu Lado Danmark earlier in November.
The five Judges at the appeal court, then unanimously ruled that Lado and PDP failed to prove allegations of irregularities against Governor Masari and his party over the Governorship election.
The verdict brought to an end the legal battle embarked upon by the PDP and Lado Danmarke, seeking to upturn the declaration of Governor Masari as the winner of the February election.
While Addressing Journalist shortly after the ruling, the state PDP Chairman, Alhaji Salisu Yusuf Majigiri revealed that the party have no option than to challenge the judgment at the Supreme Court.
Recall also that in September, the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal in Katsina State who sat in FCT Abuja upheld the election of Katsina State Governor Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari and dismissed PDP’s petition challenging his victory in the 2019 polls by two out of the three judges.
