Shocking: Katsina gov’t rehabilitates Danfodio Mosque for N52.9m
The Katsina State Government under the leadership of Rt. Hon Aminu Bello Masari has expended no less than N52,901,098.74 for the rehabilitation and upgrading of Usman Danfodio Mosque located at Modoji quarters in Katsina, Katsina Post learned.
This was disclosed by the Governor himself while delivering his speech during the presentation of the State’s 2020 budget at the Katsina State House of Assembly on Wednesday.
According to the Governor, “the State Government Road and Bridges Construction/Rehabilitation Programme has recorded progress under the 2019 financial year. The existing projects that are on-going across the State have recorded additional progress in their execution as a result of which some are completed 100% while others are about to be completed.
“However, that notwithstanding, the State Government had under 2019 financial year awarded Contract for the construction of a 48.6km Gurbin Baure – Shimfida – Batsari Road at an Estimated Total Cost of N6,123,676,133.04. The project, though awarded, could not commence on schedule due to insecurity in the area.
“Furthermore, the State Government in its efforts to upgrade and rehabilitate existing structures awarded Contract for the rehabilitation and upgrade of Usman Danfodio Mosque at the cost of N52,901,098.74. Similarly, the Contract for the renovation and remodeling of the Lagos Liaison office was awarded at the cost of N324,443,154.53. The project has recorded about 44% completion stage.
