All things being equal, the Nigerian Senate will begin deliberation and debate regarding the proposed Bill For the establishment of Federal University Of Agriculture And Technology, Funtua today.
Recall that the Senator representing Katsina South (Funtua zone), Senator Bello Mandiya presented the bill earlier this month.
The bill has successfully passed through first reading stage and today the Senate will begin the next legislative stage for the bill.
After deliberation, the Senate will then call for public hearing for the bill before final third reading.
Recall also that a Social Developmental Group, Funtua Consultative Forum has written a comprehensive memo to the Federal Government asking for a Federal University of Agriculture and Technology to be established in Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The Group who wrote the memo addressing their various representatives in the Senate, House of Representative and State House of Assembly said it is born out of glaring injustice and lopsidedness being mated on the zone in terms of the distribution of higher institutions of learning in the state.
