The Katsina State management of the National Youths Service Corps has sanctioned no fewer than eight corps members undergoing their mandatory one-year national service in the State with various penalties according to the offenses they committed.
Katsina Post learned that four out of the eight corps members are to repeat their service year while the remaining four were asked to extend their months of service.
The sanctioned corps members were from the 2018 Batch C Stream 2 that just rounded off their service year in the state.
According to a statement signed by the spokesman for the NYSC in Katsina, Mr. Alex Oboemeta, 987 corps members in the batch were discharged after completing their service year in the state.
The statement added that five outstanding corps members were given state honors for their “excellent and dedicated service to their fatherland.”
In his remarks, the state NYSC Coordinator, Alhaji Ahidjo Yahaya, enjoined the corps members to use the lessons learned during their service year for the good of the society.
