Hon. Kusada secures relief materials for flood victims in his constituency from NEMA

The Katsina State’s former Speaker, State House of Assembly and member representing Kankia/Ingawa/Kusada, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Yahaya Kusada has secured relief materials worth millions of Naira from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to the victims of flood in his constituency.

Katsina Post gathered that the officials of NEMA will tomorrow, 27th October 2019 distribute the relief materials to the victims of the flood in Kusada Local Government Area, Katsina State.

Recall that, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Yahaya Kusada earlier in July presented a motion seeking for the House intervention regarding the victims of flooding in Kankia and Ingawa.

Hon. Kusada who presented his case on Thursday during the House Plenary in a matter of urgent public importance notified the House that a torrential rainfall on 17th June 2019, destroyed more than 10,000 houses in Kusada, Kankia, and Ingawa local government areas.

Also, schools, clinics, markets, and farmlands were people earned for a living were all submerged according to the former Katsina State House of Assembly Speaker.

After the motion, the house resolved to “Urge the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to send relief materials to the victims in these areas affected in the form of mattresses, pillow, blankets, roofing sheets, cement, various foodstuffs e.t.c.”

The House also resolved to send a high powered delegation to commensurate with the victims in the areas affected by the flood.
