An NGO, Guga Global Foundation has flagged off the sponsorship of over 600 orphans in Daura from primary school up to the tertiary institution and donated school uniforms, books and other essentials to the beneficiaries.
Guga Global Foundation was founded by U.S based I.T specialist, Abduljabbar Surajo Guga aimed at assisting vulnerable people across the globe.
The programme held today at the Emir’s Palace in Daura has in attendance the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar, All Education stakeholders, Government Officials, Traditional titleholders, and religious leaders among others.
Speaking on the occasion on behalf the founder, Alhaji Kabir Lawal Kankara, said, “Guga Global Foundation was set up and sponsored by Abduljabbar Guga with an aim to help the vulnerable across the state, Nigeria and world at large.
He said the foundation had sponsored all the fees ranging from tuition, feeding and pocket monies for the beneficiaries as well as their education materials.
According to him, the foundation had started with 146 orphans but targeted 650 orphans within one year.
He maintained that the foundation would never reliant in its effort toward improving socio-economic status, and wellbeing of orphans and vulnerable.
While speaking, the Emir of Daura Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar represented by Alhaji Sani Abubakar thank the foundation for the gesture.
He however pledged to the foundation a total support and commitment from the emirate council in other to achieve desired objectives.
