Gov Masari set to dissolve Katsina Local Governments caretaker c’ttees
The Executive Governor of Katsina State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari will dissolve all the 34 LGAs caretaker committees in Katsina State in the coming days, latest by the end of this month, Katsina Post can authoritatively report.
Katsina Post checks also found out that already high-level politicking is going on at both the state and local governments between stakeholders regarding the issue.
Recall that the Governor sworn-in the current transition committee chairmen on the 13th of August 2018.
The law, however, allows them to stay for just six months but the Governor wrote to the House of Assembly seeking their approval to extend their stay twice for the period of six and three months respectively – which they did.
But the state House of Assembly had while deliberating on the second request for the extension of the caretaker committees’ tenure in July vowed not to approve any more extension.
By implication, this means that the tenue of the present transition committee chairmen will end by the end of October.
