NGO meets religious, traditional leaders over child marriage in Katsina
Save the Children International (SCI), religious and traditional leaders have met to find ways of ending child marriages in Katsina State, Daily Trust reports.
Speaking at the meeting, SCI Project Manager, Binta Hussaini, said the program, which is being executed in Katsina, Gombe and Zamfara states was aimed at empowering a girl child educationally and health wise.
She said about 100,000 people were being argeted under the programme.
Earlier, Mr Akpan Effiong, an advocacy and communication officer of the programme said the meeting was aimed at bringing key stakeholders on board for easy assimilation by the larger members of the public.
