The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has in a major crackdown yesterday (Monday night) shutdown many car retailers shops suspected to have smuggled vehicles into the country through the land borders.
Katsina Post gathered that officers of the Nigeria Customs Service sealed many shops along Katsina – Kano road after counting the number of cars in each of the shops they raided.
When Katsina Post reporter moved around the town, we gathered that the customs officers placed some notes on the gate of the car dealers shops with fines of millions of Naira.
When we contacted the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Customs Service on phone, he promised to make an inquiry and revert to us.
Recall that operatives of Nigeria Customs Service with the back-up of heavily armed security personnel had in July sealed off a car dealer premises belonging to Shittu Shittu, the Katsina State chapter Chairman, of All Progressives Congress, APC.
