The President of National Association of Katsina State Students (NAKATSS NATIONAL BODY), Comrade Nasir Almustapha Danye Jibia has dragged 13 NAKATSS National Body officials to court for alleged defamation of character.

The suit dated September 26 and filed on his behalf by his counsel, M.S Mahuta, before a High Court of Justice, Katsina, accused the officials of character defamation, criminal conspiracy, injurious falsehood, intentional insult and inciting disturbances, which were defamatory, slanderous, untrue injurious and intended to lower the reputation and integrity of the plaintiff in the estimation of right-thinking members of the society, which in turn brought him to public ridicule, odium, contempt and derision.

According to the writ of summons as seen by Katsina Post, Danye’s counsel prayed the court to order the summon of each of the accused persons to answer the alleged criminal charges for possible prosecutions.

Recalled that the officials had previously petitioned the president, suspend and later signed for his impeachment, accusing him of withdrawal of funds without approval, financial padding and embezzling over 200, 000 from the association’s dues, an allegation he denies.

The names of the accused persons contained in the petition are Bello Salisu Abdul-aziz, Khalid Tukur Lawal, TijjaniMustapha, Kabir Mannir Madaha, Aliyu Usman, Aminu Abdulrashid yaro, Jabir Abubakar, Garba Ismail, Auwal Bako Ahmad, Abubakar Ibrahim Machika, Likman Abdulrahman, Ashiru Rabiu, and Faisal Ibrahim Kaura.

The court had however summoned the accused persons and fixed 2nd October 2019 for the first hearing of the case.
