Just In: Katsina Assembly passes bill for creation of Katsina State Safety and Road Traffic Authority
The Katsina State House of Assembly had passed the bill for the creation of the Katsina State Safety and Road Traffic Authority (KASROTA), Katsina Post learned.
The bill was passed today after all the necessary legislative processes in the House presided by the Speaker, House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tasi’u Musa Maigari.
The bill will enable the state government to establish a befitting authority saddling with the responsibility to ensure public security and traffic regulations in the state.
According to the bill, the agency will be headed by Director-General and will also consist of the vehicle inspection department to be headed by a state director vehicle inspection and the director head of security guards.
Recall that the Executive Bill for the establishment of the Authority was first introduced to the last state Assembly but was not passed into law.
Then, in 2018, about 63 memoranda have been received by Katsina state House of Assembly when it organized Public Hearing on the bill.
