3 killed, 7 injured as customs ‘operation’ turned bloody in Jibia, Katsina
No fewer than three people were allegedly killed and seven were injured when officers of the Nigerian Customs entered Jibia Local Government in search for smuggled commodities, Katsina Post learned.
Locals who spoke to Katsina Post said the officers entered the town in the early hours of Monday and broke into some big stores.
“We saw officers well armed this morning and they began forcing themselves into some big-big stores belonging to some major traders and businessmen carting away foodstuff like foreign rice, sugar, milk, macaroni, Spaghetti, and second-hand clothes.
“Some of the owners of the commodities tried to resist the officers’ operation and in the process, three of them were killed and seven others were injured”, he said.
The Katsina State Command of the Nigerian Customs is yet to issue a statement in that regards. Efforst made by Katsina Post to get to there Public relation officer also proves abortive.
