Bandits reportedly promised to attack Katsina community, kill 100 people in new audio message
Suspected armed bandits have promised to launch a fresh attack on Matazu community of Katsina State and kill one Hundred people in the process in a new audio clip going round social media, Katsina Post can report.
The audio clip, which Katsina Post can not authoritatively ascertain its genuinely, is suspected to be a recording of a phone conversation between a relative of the Caretaker chairman of Matazu whose two sons were abducted last week and the suspected kidnapper.
In the audio, the suspected kidnapper was heard speaking in anger as to why the Carekater Chairman of Matazu will offer him one million Naira as a ransom for his children saying that it is a ‘slap on his face’ as one million Naira is not even enough for his phone’s airtime.
He then said if he is not settled ‘properly’, he will arrange his men and attack the town and kill no fewer than 100 people.
He also said they were hired to kill the Caretaker Chairman but Allah speared him.
On their part, the Police Command in Katsina has through its Public relations officer, SP Gambo Isa said “the Command is not taking this threat lightly and have already deployed more personnel and equipment to the area as a proactive measure to prevent any untoward situation.
“Also intelligence gathering has been intensified in the area. The Command enjoins the community to join hands and partner with security agencies in the fight against crime and criminality.”
