As the Nigerian land borders continue to remain closed following Federal Government’s decision recently, citizens have begun to look from within for things they hither though get somewhere.

Nigerians have over so many years depended on some foodstuff produced outside the country for the survival but it seems not anymore, courtesy of President Muhammadu Buhari’s policies.

Just recently, Katsina Post learned that two rice mills began production of parboiled rice in Katsina State in large capacity.

The companies are one Beto Rice Company located in Malumfashi and owned by M. M. Beto.

Another company according to Katsina Post checks is Jargaba Rice Company owned by one Alhaji Babangida Jargaba located in Funtua Local Government Area.

Recall also that another Rice Mill, Darma Rice Mill Ltd, is underway in Katsina State according to the company’s Executive Director Mr Fahad Mangal.

According to him, the company would set up a 600,000 tonnes capacity rice mill in Katsina to bridge the gap in rice consumption demand in Nigeria to support the Federal Government’s effort at making Nigeria self-sufficient in rice production.

He added that the production plan was divided into two phases, saying that the first phase would be 300,000 tonnes per annum capacity of two lines of 16 tonnes per hour rice mill.

According to him, the first phase of the project will take off before the second quarter of 2020 while the second phase of another 300,000 will come on stream immediately after.
