With few weeks to the start of new NPFL season, Kano Pillars have lost one of their longest-serving player, Gambo Muhammed as he leaves for another club, Katsina Post can report.

One of the surprise moves of the season happened on Tuesday at the camp of former champion Kano Pillars as Muhammad Gambo parted ways with the club after 13 unbreakable years.

The former Super Eagles Striker signed a three year contract with the Chanji boys of Katsina united.

Gambo joined Pillars in 2006 from Buffalo Football Club and went ahead to be one of vital player of the club.

Sources said Gambo left Kano Pillars after he disagrees with the management over their decision to send him to a coaching course in the National Sports Institute as recommended by the Technical Crew of the club in their last season report.

The lanky striker almost signed a deal with a Tunisia Ligue one side Club Africain in 2013 but the deal failed to materialize.

In the course of his stay, Gambo netted over 70 goals for Mai Su Gida boys in all competitions.
