Wurma attack: Community secure release of all but 1 relations with N10.4m ransom
Days after the unfortunate incidence of bandits attack on Wurma Community of Kurfi Local Government Area of Katsina State which culminated to the kidnapping of over 40 residents, the community were able to secure the release of all of one among the kidnapped victims after the payment of no less than N10.4 million, Katsina Post learned.
One of the community representative and Lecturer with the Ummaru Musa ‘Yar’adua University, Dikko Muhammad made this known in a Facebook post on his personal timeline.
According to him, after the bandits whisked away with their victims, they divided them into five groups (probably to extort highest possible money for their ransom) and they were able to successfully negotiate for their release.
Dikko Muhammad further gave the breakdown of how the money was paid to the kidnappers as Batch A – N1.3m; Batch B – N600,000; Batch C – N2m; Batch D – N3m (but they are still holding one Alhaji Muhammadu who happens to be the only man among the kidnapped victims) and finally Batch E – N3.5m.
The kidnappers are demanding extra N1m for the release of Alhaji Muhammadu.
We pray that Allah Almighty rescued the only captive and ensure peace in all our communities.
