Committee for take off of Federal Polytechnic Daura visit Katsina 

Governor Aminu Bello Masari has emphasized that any federal institution wishing to take over state institution must be ready to fully compensate the state government.

This is according to Hassan Dayi, of the Press Center, Government House, Katsina.

He was speaking when he received the chairman and members of the committee for the take off of Federal Polytechnic, Daura during a courtesy call at government house, Katsina.

The Governor explained that the state government is currently facing shortage of resources and cannot afford to be donating infrastructures to the federal government inspite of its might in resources control.

Masari however commended officials of the federal ministry of education for the prompt response to establish the federal polytechnic some few months after assenting to the Bill by president Muhammad Buhari.

He assured that the state government would cooperate with the committee for the proposed federal polytechnic, Daura.

He therefore informed chairman and members of the committee that the state government had directed officials of the state ministry of lands and the state surveyor general for the proper take off of the new institution.

Earlier, the chairman of the committee and permanent secretary in the federal ministry of education, Architect Sunny Echono said they were in the state to intereact with stakeholders for the take off of the new institution.

The permanent secretary who was represented by the Director for tertiary education in the federal ministry of education, Mr Joel Ojo explained that the committee would appreciate the provision of a suitable location for the polytechnic in Daura.

He spoke at length on other terms of reference of the committee as inaugurated by the Minister of education, Mallam Adamu Adamu.

The representative of the Permanent secretary was accompanied by the Executive Secretary of National Board for Technical Education- NBTE Dr Mas’udu Kazaure among other Directing staff from both federal ministry of education and NBTE.
