Despite amnesty, bandits attack Katsina community on Sallah day
Some unknown gunmen suspected to be armed bandits have reportedly launched attack on Kan Dawa community of Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The attack according to our sources was launched by the bandits in their numbers on Saturday night.
“The bandits began the attack late in the night around 11pm on Saturday and were in the community till the following day (Sunday)”. Says our local source.
Our source who pleaded for anonymity also said the bandits rustled away numerous livestock ranging from cattle, sheep and goats.
Recall that last week, five northern Governors and other stakeholders on security had on the instance of the Inspector General of Police, converged in Katsina and discussed security issues.
Katsina Post learnt that part of the resolutions after the meeting was amnesty to the bandits.
