Katsina gov’t bans use of curtains, tinted glasses on tricycles
The Katsina State Government has placed a total ban on the use of curtains and tinted glasses by tricycle owners on their vehicles.
The state government also gave the operators of commercial tricycles and motorcycles in the state till the end of August to formally register with the government.
They have also been directed to print the code numbers given them during registration on such tricycles and motorcycles.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Katsina State sector Commander of the Federal Roads Safety Commission, Ali Tanimu and made available to newsmen including Katsina Post.
He said the steps were parts of security measures to curb crimes in the state.
According to the statement, a document signed from the office of the Secretary to the government of the state stressed that the ban was necessary as the activities of tricyclists and motorcyclists were reviewed against prevailing fragile security situation in the state.
“Failure to comply after the end of August 2019, the deadline will be met with enforcement decided by the state government.” the statement concluded.
