Katsina gov’t moves to coordinate activities of Islamiyya, Qur’anic, Tsangaya schools
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Hajiya Halima Lawal Othman has today inaugurated the Katsina State Islamiyya, Qur’anic and Tsangaya Education (IQTE) Coordination Committee.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Ministry’s public relations officer, Salisu Kerau and made available to newsmen including Katsina Post.
The 17 man Committee has the Commissioner/Permanent Secretary as Chairman with members drawn from SUBEB, Islamic Education Bereau, representatives of Religious organizations and other stakeholders.
The Committee has, as its aims and purpose among others:-
* Set up coordination mechanism to ensure the basic education needs of the Pupils studying in Qur’anic Schools.
*To vigorously advocate for the necessary political will for the provision of financial and other resources for the integrated Qur’anic Education.
*The committee is also aimed at advocating for the policy framework to guide the implementation of Integrated Qur’anic Education at all levels.
*To also establish synergy among implementation Partners at all levels for ensuring quality IQE and interventions.
*To lastly provide a forum for coordination and communication between national and state levels committees.
