Governor Masari moves to extend tenure of LGAs Caretakers by 3 months
Katsina State Governor, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari has sent a letter to the State House of Assembly seeking their approval to extend the tenure of the 34 Local Government Chairmen caretaker committees and their members for another period of three months.
This was contained in a letter read in the floor of the House by the House Leader and member representing Rimi constituency, Hon. Abubakar Suleiman on Tuesday 23rd, July 2019.
The Assembly presided by the Deputy Speaker and member representing Faskari constituency, Hon. Shehu Dalhatu Tafoki deliberated on the letter and agreed to approve the Governor’s request.
However, the House vowed not to consider any further request for the extension of their tenure again suggesting that the Governor should send other people for screening for the job.
Recall that the Governor appointed caretaker committees to all the 34 local governments in the state morethan a year ago.
