Al-Qalam University consolidates partnership with Bangladesh Daffodil Varsity

Al-Qalam University, Katsina and Daffodil International University, Bangladesh have reiterated commitment to consolidate partnership in academic and research activities.

The two Universities spoke about their commitment to foster close relationship in separate speeches during a 2- day visit to Al-Qalam University by the Vice-Chancellor, Daffodil International University Bangladesh, Prof. Yusuf Mahbub Islam.

The Vice- Chancellor’s delegation arrived Al- Qalam University on Monday, 8th July, 2019 and among other engagements, the visiting Vice- Chancellor conducted a Workshop for Heads of Department, Academic and Administrative Officers which took place at the ICT, Centre, Al-Qalam University.

The Workshop was on Administrative Procedure for the takeoff of BSc. Software Engineering which the Vice- Chancellor, Al-Qalam University, Prof. Shehu Garki Ado explained that the University would start running from 2019/2020 academic session.

He said the University has already contacted the National Universities Commission seeking approval to float the BSc. programme.

Prof. Shehu Ado noted that as a world class University in computer engineering, Daffodil has a lot to offer in supporting the takeoff of the Software Engineering degree programme in Al-Qalam University.

In his words ” Daffodil has offered to assist us to set up the BSc. Programme including the curriculum and other modalities to ensure development of the degree programme so as to be the best. Presently, only few universities in Nigeria are offering the Software Engineering programme “.

After the Workshop for Heads of Department, Academic and Administrative Officers, the Daffodil Vice- Chancellor interacted with students of the department of Mathematical Science.

Before leaving Katsina, a farewell dinner was organized for the Bangladesh delegation by the Vice- Chancellor, Al-Qalam University on Tuesday, 9th July, 2019.

The dinner was also attended by the Chairman, Katsina Islamic Foundation- K.I.F., Alhaji Bilya Sanda accompanied by one of the members of K.I.F., Alhaji Suleiman Isa Mai’adua.

Gifts and souvenirs were also presented to the visiting delegation.
