Senator Babba Kaita react to group calling him to contest for Katsina Governor in 2023
The Senator representing Daura zone (Katsina North), Senator Ahmed Babba Kaita has reacted to the call by a pressure group “Babba 23” calling on him to contest for the post of Katsina State Governor come year 2023.
His reaction is contained in a statement signed by his media aide, Malam Abdulkadir Lawal and seen by Katsina Post.
According to the statement “The attention of the Senator Representing Katsina North, Senator Ahmed Babba Baba Kaita has been drawn to the agitation by a pressure group, “BABBA 23” canvassing support for him to seek the Governorship position of the state, come 2023.
“While appreciating the group for recognizing the capacity of the Senator to represent the good people of Katsina state in other layers of responsibility in service to his people, the Senator wishes to make it explicitly clear that, his immediate priority is the task of quality and effective people-oriented Legislation in the 9th Assembly.
“This, according to the Senator, requires the cooperation and support of his constituents, no doubt. It is in the light of the current mandate, that such support and cooperation will provide the necessary boost in his engagement.
“The task before him at the moment, is how to use the present mandate given to him towards the general improvement of the lives and wellbeing of his teeming constituents in general and followers in particular.
“Already, numerous interventions have begun as part of his constituency projects, including the recently inaugurated motorized borehole with reticulation and overhead tanks in some Local Government Areas and the Integrated Solar Security power supply projects in hospitals across six Local Government Areas .
“The distinguished Senator wishes to appreciate the rare show of love and goodwill and urges that, while he will not hesitate in identifying with progressive groups who have the interest of the state at heart, he is desirous of focusing on working with members of the 9th Senate to assist the President, Muhammadu Buhari in fulfilling his promises to Nigerians.”
