There are strong indications that the Force Headquarters, Abuja, has taken over current efforts to secure the release of the abducted Magajin Garin Daura (District head of Daura), Alhaji Musa Umar, from his abductors.
The Daura district head was abducted by gunmen on May 1, 2019, but had yet to regain his freedom as of press time on Saturday.
Investigation revealed that issues concerning the number of suspects arrested so far in connection with his abduction and the progress made so far by the police in connection with the efforts to rescue him were now handled by the Force Headquarters.
Dependable sources revealed that the police in Katsina State might have even got clues that would assist in the rescue of the traditional rulers, which had been passed to the FHQ.
The state Commissioner of Police, Sanusi Buba, is also said to have been shuttling between Katsina and Daura since the abduction of the district head with a view to tracking down the abductors.
