KTFest 2019: Group organises first ever Katsina Book, Arts Festival
Arrangements have been concluded for the maiden edition of Katsina Book and Arts Festival “KT FEST 2019” in Katsina next month.
This was disclosed to news men during a press briefing by the convener, Mallam Lukman Umar Kankia in Katsina.
According to him, the Katsina Book and Arts Festival “KTFest 2019” would be a three-day programme of Arts and Book focused events.
Kankia said the programme which would take place between July 12-14 2019 would include book chats, panel discussions, performances and art exhibition with Nigerian writers and thinkers.
According to him, the maiden edition would feature about 40 guests including writers, poets, actors, musicians, artists and filmmakers.
He said the aim of the Festival was to ”change the way the World sees Northern Nigeria” and boost access to literacy and reading, reignite a passion for arts and culture in Katsina state, to create more safe spaces where cultural and literary enthusiasts can gather to dialogue about books, culture and ideas.
Kankia added that the Secretary to Katsina State Government, Dr Mustapha Mohammed Inuwa would Chair the event, while the former Executive Secretary Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF), Engineer Muttaqha Rabe Darma would be the Chief host.
He, however, appealed to the State Government, relevant agencies, corporate bodies and philanthropists to assist in the actualization of the events.
