Next Level: 4 people ‘fight’ to become Masari’s next chief of staff
As Katsina State Governor, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari re-constitute his cabinet for his second and last term in office, many people jostle for the position of his chief of staff which was left vacant since the exit of Senator Ballo Mandiya.
The office of the Chief of Staff is very powerful and important in any administration. Together with Director Protocol, Personal Assistant, Secretary to the State Government, they are sometimes called the ‘kitchen cabinet’ because of their strategic importance.
They are normally among the first set of appointments any Governor does because they are necessary for the smooth running of government.
In 2015, Governor Masari appointed Dikko Umar Radda as his Chief of Staff but he was later appointed as the Director-General, Small and Medium Enterprise (SMEDAN) by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Governor Masari later appoints Alhaji Bello Mandiya who held the position till he won Senate seat to represent Katsina South in the Senate.
