Masari counters Mustapha Inuwa, passes vote of confidence on military to end insecurity in Katsina

Katsina State Governor, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari has countered Secretary to the Government of the State, Mustapha Inuwa when he expressed confidence in the ability of the nation’s military to end banditry, kidnapping, and killing of innocent people in the state.

Masari spoke when he received the chief of Army staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai in Government House, Katsina.

According to him, since the Army and other sister security agencies could degrade the Boko Haram terrorists in the north-east, they could do the same to the bandits.

The Governor also pledged not to relent in supporting the security agencies to safeguard the lives and property of people of the state.

Earlier, Buratai, who was represented by the chief of training and operations, Maj Gen Lamidi Adeosun, said he was in Katsina as part of his assessment of the security situation in the north-west.

Katsina Post, however, recalls that this is coming few weeks after the Secretary to the Government of the State, Mustapha Inuwa accused the Nigerian Army of a nonchalant attitude towards the fight against banditry in the state.

But Katsina Post learns that the Commander, 17 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Katsina, Brigadier General Lukman Omoniyi dismissed the accusation saying that his men are trying their best.
