Below is what he posted:
However, Katsina Post can not independently verify whether a ransom was paid before his release or not.
Recall that Dr. Birchi was whisked away at his country home, at about midnight on 30th May 2019 at Tashar Bara’u village along Dutsinma road in Katsina state.
The chairman of Academic Staff Union of the Polytechnic (ASUP), Dr. Sabi’u Yau Abdullahi, who confirmed the development said the union is greatly disturbed over the unfortunate incidence.
Recall that Katsina State is recently almost always in the news for the bad reasons of armed banditry and kidnapping especially in the so-called nine front-line local governments bordering the Rugu forest and Zamfara State.
