Breaking: Nigerian Army transferred Commander 17 Brigade out of Katsina
Breaking News: Nigerian Army Replaces Commander of Katsina 17 Brigade
The Nigerian Army has transferred the Commander 17 Brigade, Brigadier General Lukman Omoniyi out of Katsina, Katsina Post can authoritatively report.
Information about the transfer is still sketchy as at the time of filing in reports as such we can not get the name of the new Brigade Commander posted to lead the Brigade.
This, however, could not be unconnected with the insecurity in the state and the accusation by the State Government that the Army is ‘not doing enough’ to prosecute the fight against armed banditry in the state.
Text sent to the Public Relations officer of the Brigade to respond to the development was not replied as at the time of filling in this report.
The Director Press of the Secretary to the Government of The State, Alhaji Abdullahi Aliyu ‘Yar’adua also confirmed the development to Katsina Post.
Recall that we reported to you that the Katsina State government has accused the Nigerian Army of a nonchalant attitude towards the fight against banditry in the state.
This accusation was made by the Katsina State’s Secretary to the State Government, Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa in an interview with a Radio Nigeria reporter and aired on the same station and other sister stations on Monday morning.
But Katsina Post learns that during the program which also featured the Commander, 17 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Katsina, Brigadier General Lukman Omoniyi dismissed the accusation saying that his men are trying their best.
