Katsina cultural group to represent Nigeria in Scotland in June

The Katsina State Director of History and Culture Bureau who also doubled as Sarkin Askan Yariman Katsina, Dr. Bashir Aliyu Sallau said that the Katsina State cultural contingent will be representing Nigeria in Scotland in the coming month of June.

Dr. Bashir Sallau who made this known during the annual “TASHE” conducted by pupils from 12 primary schools in katsina metropolitan Council held at government House, Katsina to the pleasure of the Governor and other top government officials added that the contingent has been undergoing rigorous training at a military cantonment in Abuja in preparation for the journey to Scotland.

On his part, the Governor Aminu Bello Masari says the APC administration will consider granting housing loans for teachers to build houses in the state.

The Governor explained that now that local education authorities in the state post teachers in their places of birth, the state primary education board needed to come up with the implementable procedure of providing the loans to enable teachers to own houses before they retire from service.

Alhaji Aminu Masari also requested the Board to synergize with the state History and culture Bureau to conduct the annual TASHE in two categories.

In the first category, Governor Masari said the two government agencies needed to teach children tashe (Halloween) as done by our forefathers while the second category needed to be a blend of the past tashe with modernity in it.

On security challenges facility the state, Alhaji Aminu Masari was particularly happy with the Board for complying with the directives to order the pupils of primary schools to offer special prayers for Allah’s interventions for peace to return to the state.

Governor Masari was also happy with the display of culture at its best by the pupils if the primary schools at the occasion.

ln a remark, the chairman of Katsina state primary education board, Alhaji Lawal Buhari Daura expressed gratitude to the governor for the support to conduct the annual Ramadan tashe fiesta.

Alhaji Lawal Daura informs governor Masari that they have complied with the directives to make children to offer special prayers during morning assembly for an end to armed banditry in Katsina state.

He assured that the board would continue to partner with history and culture bureau for the sustenance of the annual Halloween programs.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Director of State History and Culture Bureau and Sarkin Askan Yariman katsina expressed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to uplift the cultural status of people of the state through the tashe activities.
