The Police operatives of Katsina State Command has launched an investigation into the Friday attack on Wagini village in the Batsari Local Government Area of the state by suspected bandits.
Recall that the armed bandits reportedly killed one Saidu Garba, injured three others, burnt cars and ransacked some houses during the attack.
Spokesman for the command, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed the incident on Sunday.
He said, “On Friday, May 10, 2019, around 11pm, some bandits attacked Wagini village, Batsari, and shot dead one Saidu Garba and injured three others.
“Investigators are trying to find out if there is a connection between the attack and the killing of a suspected informant by members of the Batsari vigilante group. Investigation is ongoing.”
The situation in Batsari town remained calm on Sunday as men of Operation Puff Adder and regular policemen were seen in strategic places in the town.
