The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Katsina State, Associate Prof. Badamasi Lawal has today appreciated the outstanding performance of three Girl Students who represented the State at the National Mathematics Queen Competition in Abuja.

According to Salisu Lawal Kerau, Public Relation Officer, Ministry of Education, Katsina State, the three Students are:

1. Amina sani Abdullahi – Alhuda Academy – Gold Medalist.

2. Nai’ma Lawal Abdussamad – Imam Malik – Silver Medalist.

3. Hajara Umar Faruk – Gobarau Academy – Bronze Medalist.

The Commissioner who decorated the Students with their Medals charged them to maintain the pace and continue to excel.

Earlier, the State Coordinator Mathematics Improvement Project, Mal. Sani Ahmed Kankia briefed the Commissioner on the National Mathematics Queen Competition, which he said the Competition started with the State level, where about 42 Secondary Schools from Public, Private and Community participated.

The three Students emerged victorious and represented the State at the National level of the Competition.

In Goodwill message, the Director of Alhuda Academy who spoke on behalf of other Principals thanked the Ministry for organizing the event and advised Students of the State to double effort to learn most especially the two important core Subjects of Mathematics and English.
