Finally: Katsina gov’t orders the closure of the famous ‘Yarkutungu market
News reaching us at Katsina Post has it that the Katsina State government has finally ordered for the closure of the famous ‘Yarkutungu market located in the ancient city of the state capital.
The famous market which is situated in the mids of no fewer than 6 educational institutions which affects learning in those institutions.
Recall that the Katsina State Government had earlier allocated a plot of land for the relocation of the famous market along Jibia road along Katsina ring road.
It could further be recalled that we earlier reported to you that the commissioner of commerce, tourism, and industry Katsina state, Alhaji Abububar Yusuf has revealed that the relocation of Historical Yarkutungu Market will commence soon.
The commissioner made the revelation while reviewing the suggestions giving by the advisory committee on the market relocation.
He advises people in Katsina metropolis and its environs to exercise patience toward proposed decision made by the state government.
He said the relocation is necessary considering the security threat to neighboring health and education institutions as well as residential areas.
