A bill for a Law to establish College of Agriculture in Daudawa, Faskari Local Government of Katsina State has passed second reading on the floor of the Katsina State House of Assembly earlier this week after the resumption of the State Assembly from recess.

It could be recalled that the bill sponsored by the member representing Faskari Local Government Hon. Shehu Dalhatu Tafoki was first read on the floor of the House on the 27th January 2019.

As the legislative tradition transcribes, the bill will now be transmitted to the relevant House committee which will work on it and call for a public hearing on the bill among other legislative inputs.

If the bill succeeded and the college established, it will be the first of its kind in the Funtua senatorial zone which have been complaining of alleged injustice by not having a single tertiary institution.

Recall that the Katsina State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari earlier announced that the faculty of Agriculture for UMYU will be established in Layin Minista in Malumfashi Local Government area also in Funtua zone.

Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari disclosed this during a courtesy call by Malumfashi community led by Galadiman Katsina, Justice Mamman Nasir at government house council chamber.

The Governor announced that the construction of structures such as hostels, open theatres, and classrooms among others towards the takeoff of the Faculty will soon commence in earnest in layin Minista.
