New religious sect emerged in 3 Katsina LGAs

What appeared to be a new Islamic religious sect emerged in no fewer than three (3) Local Governments in Katsina State namely Mani, Kuraye community of Charanchi and Zakka community of Safana.

Katsina Post gathered that the sect members do observe their five (5) daily prayers with only one Raka’at and it took the intervention of the Emir of Katsina, HRH Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman who punished them and threatened to expel them out of Katsina to tame the spread of the sect.

This was disclosed by the Emir of Katsina and the chairman, Katsina state Council of Emirs and Chiefs while speaking when he led the members of the council for a congratulatory visit to the Katsina State Governor for his reelection victory at polls.

The Emir, Alhaji Abdulmummuni Kabir Usman, also spoke at length on the efforts of the two Emirs of Katsina and Daura in checking societal problems.

According to him, several development associations were formed to be monitoring the happenings in their domains as part of their efforts to check insecurity.

While congratulating President Muhammadu Buhari and the governor for their victory at the polls, the emir commended Masari for his quick response to problems brought to him.

On his part,  the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruk Umar Faruk expressed appreciation to the Governor for the completion of inherited projects and providing new ones that have significantly touched and improved the socio-economic status of the people.

While reacting, Katsina State Governor Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari assured government commitments towards the completion of the ongoing rehabilitation of houses of District Heads in its two emirates of Katsina and Daura.

According to him, the traditional institution with its wide structure can be used to solve the current societal problems, especially as it borders on armed banditry and kidnapping.

He, therefore, said the task before the government is to ensure sustenance of the structure of traditional rulers for more effective security in the state.

On security, Alhaji Aminu Masari reiterated the need for all hands to be on deck to achieve effective security in the state.

He further requested for parental guidance as part of efforts to check the menace of drug abuse.
