The opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Katsina State said it has enough evidence to challenge the authenticity of the results declared by INEC, that returned All Progressives Congress, APC’s candidate Aminu Masari as the winner of the state governorship election.

Speaking with newsmen, the party’s governorship candidate, Sen Garba Yakubu Lado said the evidence will be used through constitutional means to seek redress and reclaim the mandate that was “stolen” by the APC in the state.

Lado, while pleading with his supporters to remain calm, exercise patience and be law-abiding, said the result, as declared by INEC was not the true situation obtained during the polls, adding that collated results from their agents and officers on the field was far different from what INEC and APC announced.

According to him, their votes are suppose to be close to five hundred while theirs (APC) was two hundred and ninety something.

“I’m optimistic of victory and will get it using legal means,” he said.

The PDP gubernatorial candidate warned the government of Katsina state and its alleged collaborators against “short-changing” the people of the state.

According to him, It is absolutely unacceptable for people in the rural areas to be prevented from exercising their franchise as they ought to, vowing to follow due process as required by law to retrieve his mandates.
