Its Official: Katsina APC sweeps all electable positions in 2019 elections
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Katsina State has declared Governor Aminu Masari as the winner of Saturday’s governorship election.
The election was declared by the state’s Returning Officer for the governorship election, Professor Abdullahi Abdu Zuru, Vice Chancellor, Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto who said Masari polled 1,178,864 votes while defeating PDP’s Yakubu Lado, who scored 488,621 votes in the election.
He said the state had a total of 3.2 million registered voters.
According to him, the total accredited voters were 1,173,780, while the votes cast were 1,720,638 and 37,593 votes were rejected.
The Returning Officer said that “the APC candidate, Aminu Masari, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.”
Katsina Post also gathered that apart from the Governorship elections, the ruling APC in the State won all the electable positions in the just concluded 2019 elections including the 3 senators, 15 House of Representatives and 34 State House of Assembly seats.
