Man from Katsina wins Federal House of Rep seat in Kano State

A young man who hails from Katsina State by origin has won the seat of Federal House of Representatives to represent Ungogo and Minjibir constituency in the green chamber under the platform APC in Kano State, Taskar Labarai reports.

The newly elected rep, Honorable Sani Ma’aruf Mai Wake according our sources was born in a village called Nasarawa under Kankia Local Government area of Katsina State.

Alhaji Ma’aruf, the father of the Honourable member reportedly went to Kano as a trader, selling grains in Dawanau market.

Alhaji Ma’aruf was a younger brother to Alhaji Mani Nasarawa who contested for senatorial seat in Daura under the platform of PDP last months.

Sani’s father died in 2003, and Maiwake continued to live with his relatives in Kano. He soon became involved in politic and found his way to success.

Sani faced some challenges during primary election, he was otherized and deemed as not a Kano indigene by some people.

He however reacted wittingly by saying he is a Muslim person and Hausa-fulani from Katsina, which is a twin sister to Kano.

His good behaviour has won the hearts and minds of the people of his constituency who love him and voted for him.

During the campaign he went through a lot of challenges but at the end after the election he appeared as the winner, with a very wide margin he gave to his main challenger.
