Over 120 less privileged persons have benefited from free medical services in Daddara, Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State by the Community Development Service medical group under the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC).
The leader of the group, Dr Amayo Kelvin Onyebuchi, said that 88 persons were diagnosed with eye ailments, while the remaining 32 were diagnosed having other ailments.
He said that they conducted test on those with eye problems, after which, some of them were given drugs, while others were given glasses.
Dr. Amayo said they purchased drugs worth N250,000 and offered them free of charge to the beneficiaries during the outreach programme.
While speaking, the NYSC Zonal Inspector, Mr Bayero Sani, who represented the State Coordinator, Hajiya Ramatu Sanda, thanked the people for creating the enabling environment for the Corps Members to render such services in their area.
Some of the beneficiaries interviewed expressed their appreciation to the NYSC for choosing the community for the outreach programme.
