The United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Stuart Symington has called for peaceful governorship and House of Assembly elections scheduled to hold 9th March.
Mr Stuart made the call while on a visit to the Katsina State Commissioner of Police, CP Sanusi Buba on Saturday.
The ambassador lauded Nigerians for the February 23 presidential and National Assembly elections, which he described as generally peaceful.
He maintained that the police and other security agencies could perform better if members of public gave them support.
Stuart enjoined Katsina residents to maintain peace during the forthcoming elections just as they did in the previous exercise.
The state Commissioner of Police, Sanusi Buba, said there was no serious incident during the just-concluded presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.
He assured the US envoy that the forthcoming governorship and state assembly elections would be peaceful, adding that the state police command and other security agencies were fully ready for the election.
