The Katsina North senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ahmad Baba Kaita was defeated at President Muhammadu Buhari’s polling unit, at the Sarkin Yara Ward A, Kofa Baru polling unit (03), Gidan Niyam in Daura local government area of Katsina state.
The polling unit was won by Accord Party.
The presiding officer, a corp member, Aliyu Abdullahi announced that APC’s candidate, Ahmad Baba Kaita polled 247, Mani Nasarawa (PDP) got 2 and Mohammed Lawal Nalado of the Accord Party 262.
However, President Buhari won the presidential election at the unit, polling 523 votes, while Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party recorded 3 votes.
Recall that one Bashar Mamman of 25-years old of age and allegedly sick who voted at the same polling unit for President Muhammadu Buhari died.
According to Daily Trust, Mamman who lives near the polling unit, died around 6:30 pm, over four hours after casting his vote, reportedly for Buhari.
