Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has concluded plans to send its officers to monitor the conduct of coming Saturday’s re-scheduled election in Katsina.

Alhaji Idris Isiyaku, the commission image-maker at the zonal office in Kano disclosed this on Wednesday during a telephone with some journalists in Katsina.

“Like other security agencies, we in the EFCC are also coming to Katsina to monitor the conduct of the election,” he said.

According to him, the commission will send about twenty of its officers to Katsina to monitor the exercise.

“These officers will spread to all the three senatorial zones of the state,” he posited.

Recall that the Katsina State Independent National Electoral Commission began the distribution of sensitive materials to the 34 local government areas in the state on Wednesday for Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly polls.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Jibrin Zarewa, told The PUNCH in an exclusive interview in Katsina that by the morning of February 23, each polling center would have materials ready to start voting.

Katsina, which is President Muhammadu Buhari’s home state, has 4,902 Polling Units and 1,750 Voting Points, bringing the total of Voting Centres to 6,652.
