NAKATSS national body speaks on election postponement, President Buhari and other issues (Press release)
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF KATSINA STATE STUDENTS (NAKATSS), NATIONAL BODY
All praises be to Almighty Allah the Giver, the Sustainer, the All-knowing.
It was inconvenient to receive the information that Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had postponed the 2019 general elections which was scheduled for; Saturday 16th February, 2019, which is as result of some challenges faced by the electoral body.
My fellow NAKATSSITES, “a wait to success is better than a rush to failure”. I want to believe that the electoral body made this decision to ensure a peaceful, free, fair and credible election, for this is not the first time a general election is postponed in Nigeria.
However, I want to use this medium to thank and appreciate over 5000 Katsina State Students for answering our call to welcome President Muhammadu Buhari to Katsina State for his final campaign. It was indeed a huge turn up, and this clarifies that the efforts and commitments of His Excellency Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari towards preserving the academic excellence of Katsina State is never unnoticed by the students of Katsina state.
We want to specifically thank His Excellency Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari and his campaign team for recognizing and acknowledging us, as well as supporting and giving us a chance to participate and contribute our own quota towards the struggle to continue this tremendous administration.
Meanwhile, I want to apologize to everyone who felt unaccomodated or ill treated during the solidarity welcoming of President Muhammadu Buhari. We did everything within our ability and capacity in the best interest of all Katsina State Students.
Our major target is to centralize the entire votes of Katsina State Students and cast them to President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Aminu Bello Masari to ensure they continue their good work and his Restoration Agenda.
We wish to condole with the families of those who were accidentally shot on their way back to Jibia from Katsina, who joined us to welcome President Muhamnadu Buhari on Thursday 12th February 2019, and those who are indisposed we wish them speedy recovery,
Finally, I want to call on everyone of us to be truly patriotic, law abiding and shun away from any act of election violence. And hence pray for peaceful elections.
