Katsina Ex-Governor Shema reacts harshly to election postponement
The Katsina State former Governor, Bar. Ibrahim Shehu Shema has reacted harshly to the Independent National Electoral Commission in respect to the election postponement in the early hours of Saturday.
The former Governor further described the postponement of the general elections as a sad and disappointing event.
According to the former governor, what is even more disheartening was that the postponement started as a rumor a few days ago and now it has become a reality.
Ibrahim Shema urges Nigerians of goodwill and the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to stand up in the interest of Nigeria and it’s People and do what is right by respecting the rule of law, the Constitution and the young Democracy.
In an Interview at his resident in Dutsinma town, the former Katsina state Governor expressed fear of experiencing another rumor coming into a reality that the Elections may be staggered in some states to achieve some rigging plans.
Ibrahim Shema Urges INEC to do whatever it can do in the national interest and in the interest of Nigeria and Nigerians to avoid being seen to perpetuate or to protect the selfish interest of any particular group.
He stressed that the postponement would not serve as a setback to his party the PDP in Katsina state.
