An unprecedented crowd of supporters filled inside and outside the Muhammadu Diko Stadium, Katsina to welcome home President Muhammadu Buhari, who is on the last lap of his presidential campaign.
Reports say the 35,000 capacity stadium is filled up to the brim and more and more supporters are outside and cannot enter the stadium.
Sources in the stadium also informed Katsina Post that some people fainted while many others sustained various degree of injury due to the unprecedented crowd of supporters.
Both inside and outside the stadium, including the lawns and the Car parks were filled to the brim with supporters of the All Progressives Congress.
Earlier, President Muhammad Buhari arrived in Katsina for the presidential campaign rally.
The presidential jet touched down the tarmac of Mallam Umar Musa Yar’adua Airport at a little after one o’clock in the afternoon.
Governor Aminu Bello Masari along with his Deputy, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu, the speaker, Alhaji Tasi’u Musa Zango, members of the state house of assembly and some members of the state executive Council were at the airport for the welcome ceremony.
Shortly after arrival, president Muhammad Buhari proceeded to the palace of the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmummuni Kabir Usman and paid homage.
